They ginned up the rhetoric got people to walk around outside events whee the President was speaking, brandishing automatic weapons, publicly, hanged effigies of President Obama, called him a terrorist, called him as Muslim as IF, something is WRONG with being a Muslim, called him a Communist, a Socialist, said he was not born in the USA, said he was NOT intelligent, said that he was coming to get your guns, called him a baby killer, and of course EVERY racial slur that has EVER been known to mankind.

They have spun EVIL and HATE, non-stop, 24/7/365 and this EVIL and HATE has taken human form, in the bodies of THIS shooter, THOSE Colorado, Wisconsin, Oregon and Oregon shooters. They have taught the idea that it is okay to DISRESPECT your fellow human brothers and sisters to the selfish, hubristic ideation that THEY are all-powerful and are free to gun down in cold-blood ANYONE, including innocent little boys and girls, IF they choose, that THEY are simply exercising their "right to bear arms" that they can resolve any actual or imagined personal issue through the use lethal ballistic force.

And those who pander to the feeble-minded, who purposely stir emotions through the dissemination of paranoia-fueled propaganda, via mass media networks, are, in essence, helping the executioners carry out the senseless slaughter of innocent human beings. Much the same as the cliche"yelling fire in a crowded theater" (when there is NO fire) creating a false fear, a panic, an anxiety which triggers a perverse, pathological reaction, and when combined with easy access to military-grade, semi-automatic weapons, ammunition, and high capacity magazines, results in horrific carnage, incomprehensible to the normal human mind. It is savagery, pure savagery and it has been carefully created, cultivated, and cheered into reality. NONE of these incidents are accidents.

More people have been killed by guns this year in Chicago than in Afghanistan. GUNS are responsible for exponentially MORE deaths in the USA than Al Qaeda or ANY terrorist organization. YET, the USA spends TRILLIONS of dollars chasing ghosts around the globe, while the REAL enemy lurks in our parks, our schools, our malls, our neighborhoods, our streets, our yards, and inside our VERY homes. The USA has chosen to play roulette with guns or a "Price is Right" spinning wheel and WHEREVER that wheel STOPS, is where the NEXT expression of gun violence will occur. It might kill your sons, your daughters, your mother, your father, your grandma, grandpa, uncle, aunt, cousin, friend, neighbor, or the bullets may find YOU.

Cliffs, Myths, and Collard Greens

This ENTIRE contrived "fiscal cliff" was totally created by the GOP as a result of the GOP BLOCKING President Obama from raising the debt ceiling, something which has ALWAYS been automatic, for EVERY President , Republican OR Democrat, UNTIL PRESIDENT Barack Obama was in office. I think if you run a little statistical correlation algorithm on the numbers, you will find it statistically SIGNIFICANT that the very FIRST time in HISTORY, a USA President has been BLOCKED from raising the debt ceiling, is ALSO the FIRST time the USA has a BLACK President. And NOW, the GOP is talking of BLOCKING him AGAIN, so it will have been done TWICE and BOTH times occurred with a BLACK USA President.

It is NOT about deficit SPENDING or DEBT. Bush, Jr. did Plenty of deficit SPENDING and ALSO increased DEBT, yet some of these very SAME Republican senators and representatives, NEVER balked at Bush Jr. raising the debt ceiling, in fact, many times. And the good old D.C. press corp ONLY seems to find deficit spending and debt a problem when a Democrat occupies the White House. The D.C. media seems to be obsessed with this hallucination of a 'fiscal cliff."

The "fiscal cliff" is a sham, a mirage, hallucination, fake, false, contrived emergency, shadow, vapor, smoke, ghost, not even as REAL as Bigfoot or Nessie or getting kidnapped by alien beings from far away galaxies ,who take you for a spin in their flying Escalade, after which you wake up, naked and confused, with a taser burn on your neck The only "cliff" I can find is Jimmy Cliff, so I listened to him sing, "I Can See Clearly Now," and come to think of it, I CAN see CLEARLY, and there is NO cliff of any kind ahead of me.

Mitch McTyrtle said, "make President Obama a one-term President." This, HOWEVER, did NOT work, so we are stuck with this mythical mirage of a "fiscal cliff" where, apparently folks are going to sucked into a whirling vortex of anti-matter before they finish their black-eyed peas and collard greens on January 1st, 2013. As for January 1st, I'm going to finish my black-eyed peas, collard greens, cornbread, jug of sweet tea, and don't plan on getting ANYWHERE near a CLIFF of ANY sort.

IF we do INDEED, go over this "cliff," we MUST make sure that the appropriate parties receive their JUSTIFIED blame. GOP is ALREADY on this PR offensive to appear "open to compromise" and will portray the Democrats as "unreasonable." Someone NEEDS to point out that this "FISCAL CLIFF" was created totally by the GOP solely because the GOP, for the FIRST time in USA history, blocked a USA President from raising the Debt Ceiling. ALL previous Presidents, regardless of party affiliation, have been allowed to RAISE the Debt Ceiling.


It is ONLY because this is the FIRST USA BLACK President that he was NOT allowed to raise the Debt Ceiling. ENOUGH is F'N ENOUGH of this RACIST BS. The ELECTION is OVER. Many of the SAME GOP legislators who BLOCKED President Obama on the Debt Ceiling, ALSO voted in FAVOR of RAISING the Debt Ceiling when Bush Jr. did IT. They ALSO voted in FAVOR of the Iraq Invasion, occupation, and all the Bush Tax Cuts, which are RESPONSIBLE for MOST of the DEBT and DEFICIT. They are HYPOCRITES at BEST. And the News media NEVER puts this in the proper context and EXPLAINS how the F*CK we got HERE.

I am so TIRED of hearing this BS about this being “President Obama’s ECONOMY.” STOP harassing President Obama about the Economy. START asking the GOP, folks such as Mitch McTyrtle, John Boner, and Eric “I love Britney Spears” Cantor, who ACTUALLY are RESPONSIBLE for BREAKING the Economy, WTF THEY have DONE to help the Economy to RECOVER.

THEY have done NOTHING, and instead are RESPONSIBLE for doing ALL they can to SABOTAGE the Economy. THEY have the SAME goal as Al Qaeda, which is to DEFEAT President Obama and DESTROY the USA Economy. THIS IS the STATED GOAL of the GOP AND Al Qaeda. It does NOT get MUCH clearer than THIS.

IF, it IS, up to the STATES as to WHO is ALLOWED to VOTE, then WTF is the PURPOSE of VOTING RIGHTS legislation and WTF have we RETURNED to a Jim Crow voting system? People sure do NOT seem too UPSET over LOSING their CONSTITUTIONAL Right to VOTE. AND WTF does the U.S. Constitution NOT apply to states such as Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Ohio? Just wait until election day when all the minority precincts have machine failures, power failures, switched locations, etc.

Willard During Vietnam War - Truffle Reconnaissance

Playing Doctor - GOP Practices OB/GYN Without License

Over half of the USA burned up, global warming causes MORE extreme weather day by day, and bridges are crumbling, and Lord KNOWS that NONE of these ragged old coastal cities can take the PUNCH of a Hurricane AND the AFTERMATH. For the MOST part the USA has done absolutely NOTHING to solve REAL problems that pretty much guarantees a MAJOR catastrophic DISASTER or TWO in the USA fairly SOON. 

Do NOT expect the GOP to do ANYTHING. ALL they do is PRACTICE OB/GYN without license. I've been told to practice OB/GYN with OUT license can lead to SERIOUS prison TIME, and YET they PERSIST. GOP is NOT an acronym for Gynecology-Obstetrics- Party. On at LEAST several layers it would appear to ME, an amateur, non-professional psych person just voicing an untrained opinion, that these GOP middle-aged white men are engaged in some serious perversions here.

All they want to do ALL day long, each and EVERY day is talk about vaginas and think up ways they can penetrate a woman's privacy against her WILL. Seems a bit like TORTURE to me, a KINKY type of behavior for grown men to be engaged in day in and day out. Maybe they all became representatives after all the mental facilities were closed and so they ran for public office for the paycheck and benefits and food.

It's ALL Time-Warner's FAULT per USUAL. I would have NEVER seen/heard the walking, talking, human emetics AKA repiglicans had I NOT had to go out to Time-Warner and exchange my cable box that got hit by lightning last week, for another cable box, that surely as if i were a TRUE clairvoyant, did NOT work properly, for the Time-Warner Customer SUFFER Dept. apparently did not send the PROPER signal through the line to activate my cable box, WTF REALLY got me agitated is as I went through the channels to tally how MANY were NOT working I found that there was a message telling me that I would have to pay EXTRA for MSNBC and WHEN I checked sure ENOUGH NO MSNBC, but 3 FOX channels ON there and ALL "FREE" This led to me surfing around a bit WHERE I ran into the GOP floor speeches.

The GOP better be GLAD that GAWD doesn't ACTUALLY zap LIARS with LIGHTING. There would have been NOTHING left in that chamber but a few heaps of smoldering ashes ad a few greasy spots on the floor. ANYWAY when I tried to call TWC Customer SUFFER Dept, I got a robot on the line who promised to synch up my cable box with the PROPER channels. I will NOT hold MY breath. I did get a NEW remote controller and as I tested it, I was ABLE to BLOCK ALL FOX channels from my TV. Put them in as porno in the adult advisory section.

You just can't LOOK at FOX without realizing that it IS a PORN operation. Casting for female GOP political stars evidently is done after the GOP intelligentsia spends a few days on King-Sized Hotel Beds equipped with Magic Fingers and a 24 hour 70-80s porn film festival. This is HOW they end up with Linda Lovelace-like Trailer-Park Queens from Alaska or exotic-dominatrices from the Indian sub-continent who punish them and withhold candy from them UNTIL they turn over the loot.

Hunter Thompson nailed it. The current GOP strategy of voter suppression is indeed an old one, for it actually predates the Republican Party itself. Then, it was the old "Jim Crow" Democrats from the South with all their poll taxes and ridiculous "Voter Eligibility Exams." After the Civil Rights and Voting Rights legislation was passed in the United States, these "Jim Crow" Democrats left the Democratic Party for the Republican Party as evidenced in Nixon's "Southern Strategy" of 1968.

It is no surprise, then, that when Republicans took control of of governor's offices and legislatures in 2010, that they would proceed with legislation that would limit voter turnout for certain parts of the electorate. These voting blocks were ALSO the SAME parts of the electorate who voted overwhelmingly for President Obama in 2008. The Republican Party decided, that limiting voter participation for large groups of voters likely to vote Democratic, would be a key element for their 2012 political campaigns.

However, in terms of the total election strategy Voter ID laws are just DISTRACTIONS. The REAL thievery is planned, coordinated, and executed via the electronic touch-screen voting systems and their tabulation procedures, where vote flipping is quick, easy, and not EVEN investigated. ALL they have to to is have PLAUSIBLE results that fall within the "margin of error" from a recent poll, and NOBODY will question them.

THEREFORE all they need to do is run the mathematical calculations to see how many votes they need to pilfer from what area that will not seem too out of line. A few hundred votes here, a few hundred there and BINGO your candidate carries the state. There are too many ways to do this to name them all, but this can be done in real-time, to adjust for conditions such as voter turnout.

Votes can be flipped by cellphones, smartphones, ipads, laptops, and a myriad of devices. Trojans and other malware such as zombies can also be dormant in the system, execute a one-time application and then delete itself and all traces that it has ever been in the system. So, I hope we've got the IT spooks or other such folks working these cases as we speak, gathering intelligence to prevent a repeat of 2000.

Voter requirements are often changed so that the voter is always confused about everything associated with voting. Voting precincts are changed, closed, and moved as part of the redistricting process. Voter requirements are also changed by state legislatures.

Among the most visible of these are State-Issued Photo-ID requirements. These are, by design, MEANT to confuse. A voter is required to produce the CORRECT official state documentation in order to qualify for the OFFICIAL State-Issued Photo-ID. For example, in South Carolina, even though STATE universities issue Photo-ID cards, THESE state-issued photo-IDs are NOT considered valid forms of identification for voting.

Also, in South Carolina, even though only SHORT-FORM birth certificates are issued at birth, the state REQUIRES a potential voter to produce a LONG-FORM birth certificate in order to obtain the OFFICIAL State-Issued Photo ID. In addition the State of South Carolina does NOT provide the Long-Form birth certificates free of charge. This creates a new version of poll tax.

The Passing of Michael Teasley

JACKSON — Friends are remembering Michael Teasley for his loyalty and activism. The 40-year-old Jackson State University student died yesterday, apparently from natural causes.  In a 2011 interview with the Jackson Free Press after his election as president of the JSU branch of the NAACP -- the first time for a white person in the school's history -- Teasley discussed his plans to reinvigorate college students to vote.

People who knew Teasley expressed shock at the news of his death and shared remembrances on his Facebook page. One friend recounted Teasley's remarks about the death of a JSU professor. #"You do so much for people and they just forget you fast," Teasley said at the time. #Of Teasley's death, his friend wrote: "Well, I'm not going to forget my friend, my colleague, my sparring partner in debates about approaches to crime prevention and activism and someone who always had my back and yours."




 

My Comments

I did not personally know Michael, but his passing struck a chord in me, maybe something about being in the midst of so much nastiness, downright hatred, and  meanness that has come to represent the true nature of life here in the Bible Belt, where GOP Jesus runs a majority of the churches, state houses, AND governor's offices.

The air is combustible now, held in check only by the oppressive humidity, but always within a millisecond of ignition by a lightning strike or a stray bullet. Just by reading and listening to some of Michael's fellow students, makes me understand that he got IT, just like a core group of folks here in the South do get IT.

So, Michael, may you rest in peace, and may the rest of us continue forward, for there is MUCH work to be done. Peace.

We know little about the motives of the gunman who opened fire yesterday in a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.  Many of us will monitor the news during the day, hoping to learn more about what the shooter thought he was doing, sure to hear more about the heroism and horror inside the building.
But it’s Monday, one of the first days of school for students throughout the South, where school starts early.  In those classrooms, teachers need to know how to talk about the shooting now, this morning.

Teaching Tolerance suggests starting with educating students about the Sikhs.
Sikhism rose in India at a time, about 350 years ago, when both Hinduism and Islam were practiced there; its followers seek enlightenment and brotherhood. It is a religious tradition that is little understood in the United States. Despite their rich heritage and distinctive dress, Sikhs are often mistaken for Muslims. And they have paid a heavy price for our cultural ignorance.

In fact, after 9/11, the first victim of anti-Muslim retaliation was a Sikh man, a 52-year-old gas station owner in Arizona.  Since then, according to the Sikh Coalition of Washington, Sikhs have endured more than 700 attacks.
Did the shooter confuse Sikhs with Muslims, and conflate Muslims with terrorists? We know only that he performed in racist skinhead bands  and, according to some witnesses, had a tattoo marking the 9/11 attacks.

We wrote about Sikhism last year in a blog about religious freedom, “Can My Sikh Student Carry a Sword?”  As blogger Jackie Walker wrote, Sikh men traditionally have uncut hair as a visible sign of affiliation. They may also carry a ceremonial sword or dagger, called a kirpan, to symbolize defense of the weak.
At least one Sikh in the temple died while defending the weak. Amardeep Kaleka was told by police that his father, Satwant Singh Kaleka, was killed after attacking  “the intruder or the shooter in the lobby after gunshots were fired.” He slowed the gunman down, allowing others to find shelter.

And that reminds us of something we do know: Like most faiths, Sikhism is founded on love and concern, even in the face of fear and hate.
